Highlights of 2018
ISS Audio Visual achieved another year of strong performance in 2018; highlights included the completion of AV integration in the new Avolon Global HQ, award nominations, the expansion of our staff team and the launch of our new Technical and Logistics Centre.
Early in the year we were delighted to be nominated for the Install Awards 2018 “Education Project of the Year” for our AV design and integration works in RCSI 26 York Street. 26 York Street is the most advanced clinical healthcare simulation centre in Europe. This multi-award winning building has been voted Ireland’s Favourite Building in the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards 2018, it was selected as “Fit Out Project of the Year” at the Fit Out Awards 2018, it was awarded the “Education/ Healthcare Award” at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards 2018 and also trumped the “Building Category” at the Irish Concrete Society Awards 2018.
Summer saw the completion of extensive AV design and integration works in another award winning building; the new Avolon Global HQ at Number One Ballsbridge. Spanning 75,000 sq.ft., the new headquarters features innovative AV and conferencing facilities throughout, with a (Samsung 4.3m x 2.7m 1.5mm Pixel LED Wall) video wall, and over 100 individual microphones to encourage audience participation, taking centre stage in terms of exceptional functionality and aesthetic impact.
As the largest indoor video wall in Ireland, it certainly posed challenges. But it is easy to see that the hard work and perseverance by our design team, engineers and fellow trades onsite paid off! This project was awarded Fit Out Project of the Year – Large Office at the Fit Out Awards 2018.
We also commenced a nationwide multi-site video conferencing rollout for a prominent public organisation, which continues into 2019. Featuring integration of standardised and bespoke (Polycom) VC solutions in over 60 office environments to date, our project team has collaborated to deliver an centralised Skype for Business platform.
Simultaneously we have implemented some internal changes to cater for ongoing expansion.
In Spring we opened our new Technical and Logistics Centre. The new premises caters for growth in our AV systems design service and allows us to deliver an enhanced level of support to our valued customers on a national and international basis.
Throughout the year we have also increased our workforce, adding new administrative and technical sales roles and welcoming new engineers to our growing installation team.
2019 looks set to be an exciting year as we embark on a series of innovative projects in Ireland and abroad. We’ll provide updates along the way.
Thanks to all of our Customers for your support in 2018 and we hope that 2019 brings you further prosperity.
